Tool for entering trips in a mapping environment for CATI surveys
Get precise travel data
With Geocati, a quick, reliable and adaptable software application, BVA has developed unique expertise in gathering mobility data.
The interviewer situates the information provided by respondents and can very easily prompt them if they are hesitant or vague.
The trip and modes of transportation used are ultimately described very specifically.
EXPERTISE
The techniques traditionally used during telephone interviews are too approximate and do not allow for precise assessments of the trips made.
Thanks to GEOCATI, the interviewer sees the individual's itinerary on a map and can thus optimize data collection.
Our tool can be further leveraged with a GPS information gathering function. In this case, BVA outfits panelists with a small box that automatically records the trips made throughout the day.
Mobility Surveys
Information about the previous day's travel is gathered by polling
1. Socio-demographic characteristics or the respondent
2. The following details for each trip:
Origin, destination and path traveled
Departure and arrival times
Reason for trip (professional, personal, etc.)
Means of transportation
Household Surveys
GEOCATI is also used for "household" studies in which the start and end points are identified and precisely situated on a map.
